The General Tab

Use this tab to record the general details about the work shift.

Code is a unique identifier and can be up to six alphanumeric characters.

Description is a more meaningful name or description for the work pattern (e.g. Early 04:00 to 12:00).

Day Starts is the first day of the week for the work pattern.

Tick Flexible Rostering if the work pattern is to be used for flexible rostering.

Select the Shift Identifier (i.e. Day, Evening, Night, Rest, Other).

Pre-Lunch Hours and Post-Lunch Hours are the number of hours in the early and late sections of the work pattern - typically before and after lunch or another mandated break. For example, in a 04:00 to 12:00 work pattern, you could have 4.00 Pre-Lunch Hours (04:00 to 08:00) and 3.5 Post-Lunch Hours (08:30 to 12:00).

  • Pos - A number denoting the timeband position in the sequence.

  • Start - The start time of the timeband.

  • End - The end time of the timeband.

  • To - If you want Optimum to round up minutes above a set value, set that rounding value here.

  • Acc - Tick this if you want to accumulate rounding over similar timebands.

  • In Grace - If required, you can select a clock in grace period. Grace periods are defined on the Grace/Penalties Maintenance screen.

  • Out Grace - If required, you can select a clock out grace period.

  • Pay Day - Can be Current, Previous or Next.
