The
General Tab
Use this tab to record the general details about the work shift.
Code is a
unique identifier and
can be up to six alphanumeric characters.
Description is a more
meaningful name or description for the work pattern (e.g. Early
04:00 to 12:00).
Day Starts is the first day of
the week for the work pattern.
Tick Flexible Rostering if the work
pattern is to be used for flexible rostering.
Select the Shift Identifier
(i.e. Day, Evening, Night, Rest, Other).
Pre-Lunch Hours and
Post-Lunch Hours are the number of hours in the early and late
sections of the work pattern - typically before and after lunch or
another mandated break. For example, in a 04:00 to 12:00 work
pattern, you could have 4.00 Pre-Lunch Hours (04:00 to 08:00) and
3.5 Post-Lunch Hours (08:30 to 12:00).
Use the Timebands table to
create timebands for the work pattern. The fields are:

Del - Tick this if you want
to delete the timeband.

Pos - A number denoting the
timeband position in the sequence.

Start - The start time of
the timeband.

End - The end time of the
timeband.

Code - The analysis code
for the timeband.

Mand - Tick this if the
timeband is mandatory (e.g. a mandatory break).

Min - The minimum amount of
time which must be worked in this timeband.

Round - If you want Optimum
to round down minutes below a set value, set that rounding value
here.

To - If you want Optimum to
round up minutes above a set value, set that rounding value
here.

Acc - Tick this if you want
to accumulate rounding over similar timebands.

In Grace - If required, you
can select a clock in grace period. Grace periods are defined on
the Grace/Penalties Maintenance
screen.

Out Grace - If required,
you can select a clock out grace period.

Pay Day - Can be Current,
Previous or Next.
If you have
changed any details on this tab, or you are defining a new work
pattern, click Save.
You can now
edit the Breaks tab for
the employee.
